
Why a healthy lifestyle is important for you?
Good health is central to human happiness and well-being that contributes significantly to a healthier you, as healthy populations are more productive, save more and live longer.
For a healthy lifestyle, you need a healthy and balanced diet, good hygiene habits, staying in a proper shelter, and getting enough sleep.
In addition, you will have to participate in physical activities, weight management, and stress management activities. Therefore, if you want a healthy life free of negativity and optimal mental health, creating a healthy lifestyle is essential for not only today but tomorrow.
How do you define health?
Well, I define Health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Health is how you
- feel in the morning when you wake up
- feel when you go to bed
- handle stress
- deal with your busy week ahead
- handle relationships in your life
These are the six key components of optimal health: Physical, Intellectual, Spiritual, Emotional, Environmental and Social. When keeping these six components in mind, you will achieve optimal health. Now lets talk about moderate physical activity to keep you moving that will make you feel great.
Exercise helps reduce anxiety and depression
You’ve probably heard that exercise increases endorphins, but it also increases many more brain chemicals that make you feel happy.
Exercise helps to reduce stress in your life. If you are experiencing a stressful day or situation, try these following exercise activities such as walking, dancing, yoga, or cardio exercise. Check out the vast array of exercise videos on Youtube. There are all types of exercise videos for all types of levels.
DON’T PUSH YOURSELF TOO MUCH WHEN EXERCISING
Sometimes exercisers push themselves too hard for too long, and may feel compelled to complete a certain duration or type of exercise. Pushing too hard compromises your body’s ability to bounce back, so you may constantly feel achy or sore. Therefore, if you are just starting out, exercise with moderation. If you feel you need to take a break from exercising, then do so. However, do not wait too long to start back your exercise routine.
YOGA

As someone who has been practicing yoga for over 20 years, I can attest to the powerful benefits of incorporating yoga into my daily routine of mindfulness, stress relief, and relaxation. For those of you new to yoga, it doesn’t matter how well you can stretch just as long as you stretch.
The power of yoga has so many benefits. After stretching for just 10-20 minutes, you feel a sense of peace and relaxation. Also, certain poses helps such as the downward dog stretches the shoulders, arms, and back. If you are like me, you probably have tight shoulders which is a major issue for so many people.

If you are saying to yourself, “how do I get started?” Start with a Youtube video about yoga for beginners. Find one that you feel comfortable with and start stretching.
